SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER

JOB PURPOSE

As a Senior Project Manager with a focus on the Oil & Gas Industry within the Project Management Department, you will lead and oversee the execution of complex oil and gas projects from initiation to completion. Leveraging your extensive industry experience and project management expertise, you will ensure the successful delivery of projects while adhering to safety standards, regulatory requirements, and client expectations

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Project Planning and Strategy:
• Develop comprehensive project plans, strategies, and execution plans tailored to the specific requirements of oil and gas projects.
• Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with client needs, regulatory standards, and organizational goals.

2. Stakeholder Management:
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, subcontractors, vendors, and other project stakeholders, establishing and maintaining strong relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
• Communicate project progress, milestones, and key deliverables to stakeholders, addressing inquiries, concerns, and issues in a proactive and professional manner.

3. Resource Allocation and Management:
• Allocate resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to support project activities and meet project requirements within budgetary constraints.
• Coordinate with internal departments and external vendors to ensure timely availability of resources and materials needed for project execution.

4. Risk Management:
• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and uncertainties, developing risk management plans and contingency strategies to minimize potential impacts on project outcomes.
• Monitor project risks throughout the project lifecycle, track mitigation actions, and implement corrective measures as necessary to ensure project success.

5. Quality Assurance and Compliance:
• Establish and enforce quality assurance processes, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with project specifications, industry regulations, and safety requirements.
• Conduct regular quality inspections, audits, and reviews to verify compliance with project quality standards and identify areas for improvement.

6. Cost Control and Financial Management:
• Monitor project budgets, expenditures, and financial performance, tracking variances and implementing cost control measures to ensure projects are completed within budgetary constraints.
• Prepare financial reports, forecasts, and analyses to communicate project financial status to management, stakeholders, and clients.

7. Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Management:
• Promote a culture of safety and environmental stewardship within the project team and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with HSE regulations, standards, and best practices.
• Implement safety programs, procedures, and initiatives to mitigate risks and prevent incidents, injuries, and environmental impacts on project sites.

QUALIFICATIONS / CERTIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; Master's degree is preferred.

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

1. Strong understanding of oil and gas industry regulations, standards, and best practices, including API, ASME, ANSI, and OSHA requirements.

2. Proven track record of successfully managing oil and gas projects of varying size and complexity, including greenfield and brownfield projects.

3. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively lead multidisciplinary teams and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.

4. Proficiency in project management software tools such as Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or equivalent.

5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues, analyze data, and develop effective solutions.

6. Certification in project management (e.g., PMP, CAPM) is preferred.

7. Commitment to upholding ethical standards, integrity, and professionalism in all aspects of work.

Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management, with a focus on oil and gas projects, preferably in the upstream, midstream, or downstream sectors.
