JOB PURPOSE

The Senior Executive, Industrial Relations will support in managing the industrial relations and governance matter within the company. While collaborating with the Industrial Relations Manager (“IR Manager”) on complex and high-risk matters, the Senior Executive will independently manage misconduct cases. The position requires the capability and readiness to step up as needed to assume broader responsibilities and provide continuity of leadership.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Support the Manager in advising on employment matters in accordance with the Employment Act 1955 and Industrial Relations Act 1967.
  • Provide advisory and consultancy to the relevant internal stakeholders including Management, HRBU on Industrial Relations (IR) related matters in accordance with the labour law, internal policy and code of conduct.
  • Execute and implement end to end disciplinary management including domestic inquiry, grievance management and exit management.
  • Assist in development of new and/or enhance or updating IR policies, frameworks and guidelines to ensure compliance to the applicable law in respective regions/locality.
  • Provide assistance to regional offices, including liaising with external legal firms under guidance and represent the company in Labour Department, Industrial Court.
  • Design and deliver knowledge sharing and targeted training program to equip HRBU and people manager in making informed decision.
  • Collaborate with project teams for organizational continuous process improvement to improve business efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Maintaining lR-related documents in the HR management system (HRMS) and prepare regular reports and recommendations for management based on data insights.

QUALIFICATIONS / CERTIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Min 7 years of experience in industrial relations and governance.
  • Possess solid and practical knowledge of Malaysian labour laws (Employment Act 1955, Industrial Relations Act 1967) and effective employee relations practices.
  • Exposure to other country labour law is added advantage
  • Analytical and strong communication skills.
