JOB PURPOSE

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Independently perform structural design and analysis and supervise structural engineers performing structural engineering design and analysis.
  • Create, review and approve technical engineering documents.
  • Attend project design reviews and constructibility reviews.
  • Provide sound engineering advice on subsea structural analysis and design to ensure efficient and cost effective fabrication, handling and subsea installation.
  • Ensure technical compliance and quality as well as on time delivery of all responsible deliverables.
  • Lead a group of engineers and draughtsmen as well as provide guidance on structural designs.
  • Instruct and interface with engineers and draughtsmen to ensure quality of structrual drawings and alignment with structural design and analysis.
  • Support tenders and projects activities. Attend meetings with project teams and interface with clients and be able to provide engineering recommendations and solutions.
  • Drives innovative solutions to optimize subsea structures and improve efficiency.
  • Demonstrate commitment to safety and quality through participation in safety and quality initiatives.
  • Attend appropriates industry related professional society meetings and functions in order to stay informed, influence and make good use of new technologies, products and personal development opportunities. 
  • Travel to and attend site as required to guide, inspect or oversee fabrication of structural items.
  • Travel offshore with a vessel or onto an offshore facility to assist with the installation of project equipment and occasional meetings.
  • Proficient in Engineering software such as SACS, GRLWeap, Sesam, Abaqus, Ansys, Autocad. Other software such as Orcaflex, MOSES will be added advantage. 
  • Well-versed with international codes and standards i.e. DNV, API, ISO etc. 
  • Understand various MWS requirements and clients’ specifications. 

QUALIFICATIONS / CERTIFICATIONS

  • Possess a Degree in Engineering (Civil or Structural); from recognized Higher Learning Institution. 

  • Registered with Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM). 

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

Possess at least six (6) years total working experience in oil & gas industry; whereby at least five (5) years should be in transportation and installation.
