Key accountabilities 

 

  • Perform and review structural engineering design, calculations and analysis for offshore and onshore structures, including jackets, topsides, modules, skids, platforms, supports and temporary structures.
  • Prepare, review and check structural drawings, design reports, calculation notes, specifications, material take-offs (MTO) and technical documents.
  • Ensure structural designs comply with applicable international codes and standards, client specifications and project design criteria.
  • Provide technical input during concept, FEED, detailed engineering, fabrication, construction, load-out, transportation and installation stages.
  • Review vendor, subcontractor and third-party engineering documents and resolve technical comments or deviations.
  • Coordinate with piping, mechanical, E&I, naval architecture, construction, fabrication, QA/QC, procurement and project teams to resolve interface issues.
  • Provide engineering support to fabrication yards, including clarification of drawings, site queries, technical queries (TQ), field changes and non-conformance resolution.
  • Review constructability, lifting, temporary support, transportation and installation requirements where applicable.
  • Support material selection, procurement technical evaluation and verification of structural materials against project requirements.
  • Participate in design reviews, constructability reviews, model reviews, risk assessments and client technical meetings.
  • Monitor assigned engineering deliverables and ensure completion in accordance with project schedule and engineering man-hour budget.
  • Identify technical risks and propose practical engineering solutions to improve safety, quality, constructability, schedule and cost.
  • Provide technical guidance, checking and mentoring to junior structural engineers and designers.
  • Support tendering, proposal preparation, engineering estimates and development of execution methodology when required.
  • Ensure compliance with company QHSSE requirements, engineering procedures, document control requirements and quality management systems.

 

Qualifications / Certifications:

 

  • Higher Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in relevant field;

 

Relevant Experience:

 

  • Minimum eight (8) years of relevant structural engineering experience, preferably in the oil & gas, offshore fabrication, EPCIC or heavy engineering industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in structural design, analysis, engineering deliverables and fabrication/construction support.
  • Experience in offshore structures such as jackets, topsides, modules, skids or similar facilities is preferred.
  • Experience in checking or guiding junior engineers/designers and coordinating multidisciplinary interfaces is preferred.
