JOB PURPOSE
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
E&I Design and Engineering:
Lead the development of E&I design concepts, specifications, and plans for oil and gas projects, including upstream, midstream, and downstream facilities.
Conduct engineering calculations, simulations, and analyses to validate design decisions and ensure compliance with industry codes, standards, and regulations.
Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to integrate E&I systems with overall project requirements and objectives.
Technical Leadership and Guidance:
Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers, designers, and draftspersons, overseeing their work and ensuring alignment with project goals and quality standards.
Review and approve E&I design documents, drawings, and specifications to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to project requirements.
Mentor team members, sharing best practices, lessons learned, and fostering professional development within the E&I discipline.
Project Management and Coordination:
Manage E&I aspects of projects from conceptual design through to commissioning and start-up, ensuring timely delivery within budget and schedule constraints.
Coordinate with project managers, procurement teams, and contractors to define E&I scopes, deliverables, and resource requirements.
Monitor project progress, identify risks and opportunities, and implement mitigation strategies to achieve project objectives.
Safety and Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure that E&I designs and installations comply with applicable safety standards, environmental regulations, and industry best practices.
Participate in HAZOP studies, risk assessments, and safety audits to identify hazards and implement appropriate controls to mitigate risks.
Liaise with regulatory authorities and third-party certifying agencies to obtain necessary approvals and permits for E&I systems and installations.
Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving:
Investigate and resolve technical issues, discrepancies, and challenges related to E&I systems and equipment during design, construction, and operation phases.
Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to diagnose faults, optimize performance, and implement corrective actions to ensure reliability and efficiency.
Continuous Improvement and Innovation:
Identify opportunities for process improvements, efficiency gains, and cost optimization in E&I design, installation, and maintenance practices.
Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in E&I engineering, and apply innovative solutions to enhance project outcomes.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the E&I discipline, championing innovation, knowledge sharing, and organizational learning.
QUALIFICATIONS / CERTIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
