PROJECT MANAGER

JOB PURPOSE

As a Project Manager with a focus on Oil & Gas projects within the Project Management Department, you will be responsible for leading and managing the execution of oil and gas projects from initiation to completion. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and project management skills to ensure the successful delivery of projects within scope, schedule, and budget while adhering to industry regulations and safety standards.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

 Project Planning and Execution:

 Lead the development of project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring alignment with project objectives, client requirements, and industry standards.

 Oversee project execution activities, including engineering design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover, to ensure adherence to project timelines and deliverables.

 Stakeholder Management:

 Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, subcontractors, vendors, and other stakeholders, establishing and maintaining strong relationships throughout the project lifecycle.

 Communicate project status, updates, and key milestones to stakeholders, addressing inquiries, concerns, and issues in a timely and professional manner.

 Risk Management:

 Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and uncertainties, developing risk management plans and contingency strategies to minimize potential impacts on project outcomes.

 Proactively monitor project risks, track mitigation actions, and escalate issues as necessary to ensure timely resolution.

 Resource Allocation and Management:

 Allocate resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to support project activities and meet project requirements while optimizing resource utilization and efficiency.

 Coordinate with internal departments and external vendors to ensure timely availability of resources and materials needed for project execution.

 Quality Assurance and Compliance:

 Establish and enforce quality assurance processes, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with project specifications, industry regulations, and safety requirements.

 Conduct regular quality inspections, audits, and reviews to verify compliance with project quality standards and identify areas for improvement.

 Cost Control and Financial Management:

 Monitor project budgets, expenditures, and financial performance, tracking variances and implementing cost control measures to ensure projects are completed within budgetary constraints.

 Prepare financial reports, forecasts, and analyses to communicate project financial status to management, stakeholders, and clients.

Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Management:

 Promote a culture of safety and environmental stewardship within the project team and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with HSE regulations, standards, and best practices.

 Implement safety programs, procedures, and initiatives to mitigate risks and prevent incidents, injuries, and environmental impacts on project sites.

QUALIFICATIONS / CERTIFICATIONS

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

Certification in project management (e.g., PMP, CAPM) is preferred.

1. Strong understanding of oil and gas industry regulations, standards, and best practices, including API, ASME, ANSI, and OSHA requirements.

2. Proven track record of successfully managing oil and gas projects of varying size and complexity, including greenfield and brownfield projects.

3. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively lead multidisciplinary teams and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.

4. Proficiency in project management software tools such as Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or equivalent.

5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues, analyze data, and develop effective solutions.

6. Knowledge of risk management, cost control, and scheduling techniques applicable to oil and gas projects.

7. Commitment to upholding ethical standards, integrity, and professionalism in all aspects of work.

Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in project management, with a focus on oil and gas projects, preferably in the upstream, midstream, or downstream sectors.
