JOB PURPOSE

  • Driving disciplined global coating planning & execution with a centralized approach & focusing on spirit of collaboration
  • Establish & develop the Coating function under the Welding, Coating & Inspection (WCI) Department in line with operational requirements
  • Ensure that the Coating function is aligned & projects are executed smoothly

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Responsible for the overall direction of the Coating function under WCI Department to ensure safe, efficient & performant operations as well as project & tender execution
  • Responsible for the overall performance of the Coating function
  • Responsible for developing OOCOM for offshore coating operations & for maintaining & updating as per requirements
  • Responsible for WCI’s core Coating team development as well as responsible for sufficient qualified resources are available for projects execution according to international standards & project specific requirements
  • Monitor the Coating function workload & planning allocation
  • Provide support for project bidding / tendering (technical review, cycle time & costing validation)
  • Manage KPIs of Coating function
  • Lead & drive QHSE commitment & adherence to safe work policies & practices of the Coating function
  • Actively participate to promote HSE conformance & work on establishing a Safety Culture within the Coating function
  • Ensure Coating function interfaces with other departmental functions & with subcontractors / vendors, while promoting teamwork
  • Maintain WCI Department’s share drive & know-how related to WCI Department’s activities
  • Responsible for implementation of office routines & grievance redressal
  • Adhere to policies and procedures of VTEB Group, VTEB Corporate QHSSSE, Operating Company, & Business Unit at all times

QUALIFICATIONS / CERTIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in any engineering discipline (preferably mechanical or chemical or materials or metallurgy)
  • International Coating Inspection qualifications (NACE, AMPP, FROZIO, BGAS, CSWIP, etc.) are nice to have
  • Membership in international bodies is nice to have

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

  • 10 - 15 minimum years of working experience in Coating on EPCI & T&I projects
  • Field Joint Coating (HSS, visco-elastic, liquid epoxy, painting, IMPP, IMPU, HDPUF, FBE, etc), linepipe coating (3LPE, 3LPP, AE, FBE, insulation coating, concrete weight coating etc) & destructive test (peel test, impact test, CD test, hot water soak test, salt test, density test etc) for oil & gas industry
  • Experience in delivering projects similar to the ones in E&C Business Plan
  • Project bidding / tendering (technical, cycle time & commercial)
  • Worldwide experience in managing main E&P operators (Petronas, TOTAL, ExxonMobil, ENI, Shell, Chevron etc)

  • Challenge #4: Require to be agile to adapt to the dynamic situations / requirements including project planning / interfacing, onshore qualification / offshore installation timelines / sequences, vessel schedule, personnel movement, subcontractors / vendors management etc
  • Challenge #5: Require to be multi-tasking efficiently to meet departmental growth including KPI, project deliverables / executions, project bidding / tendering / know how, & lesson learned
