JOB PURPOSE

The post holder is responsible for managing and coordinating all project planning activities from Phase 0 (Initiation) through to the successful completion of the handover to the Project Manager.

The role ensures that project planning is conducted thoroughly and systematically across all planning stages, with the required level of accuracy and detail achieved at each stage, including Cost Estimate Levels 1–3, Schedule Levels 1–4, and the Procurement Plan. The post holder is also responsible for ensuring that all required stage-gate deliverables are completed accurately, to the required quality standard, and within the established schedule.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Manage the SPS project’s development through Phases 0 and 1, and potentially a portion of Phase 2.
  • Deliverables are completed on schedule and follow the standards required by the company.
  • Ensure the strategy is decided in advance and preliminary AFE is approved in timely manner providing sufficient time for project planning.
  • Align stage gate 1 with the annual budget review schedule.
  • Schedule the stage gates and coordinate stakeholders to attend the gate review meeting.
  • Able to aggregate data (from Class, Maintenance system, deficiency list, QAQC document) and use judgment to help the Operation team to finalize the scope of work based on Company experience.
  • Able to provide some costing estimate based on company experience & own assessment.
  • Plays an active role to identify the scopes to be done during project in coordination with Rig Manager and rig crew.
  • Ensure that all scopes are covered in WBS project build up such that there is only one, integrated scope of work (e.g. no segregation between operations vs project scopes).
  • Provide shipyard technical evaluation and recommendation.
  • Review CoPQ and ensure lesson are incorporated in the database.
  • Populate the database and history of the Projects.
  • Overall owner of stage gate 1 and 2, ensuring all deliverable documentation are in places.

QUALIFICATIONS / CERTIFICATIONS / RELEVENT EXPERIENCE

 
  • Degree in Project Management, Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the related position.
  • Extensive experience from operations & maintenance of drilling units including shipyard will be added advantage.
  • Strong leadership, team development and stakeholder management skills.
  • Good knowledge of Class and Rig Maintenance and is able to challenge the activity to reduce out of service time.
  • Well-rounded engineer with experience with Drilling Contractor with strong organizational and analytical skill.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and risk management capabilities.
  • Demonstrated continuous improvement mindset with a proactive and forward-planning approach.
