JOB PURPOSE (Why the position exists)

The position exists to support the Asset Management department in maintaining vessel technical readiness, improving fleet reliability, standardising technical practices and providing functional leadership to Technical Superintendents. The role serves as a transition position to develop fleet knowledge, vessel familiarity and organisational understanding before assuming broader leadership responsibilities within Asset Management.

 

Key accountabilities (List 10 to 12)

  1. Fleet Familiarisation & Technical Assurance
  • Develop detailed understanding of all E&C vessel capabilities, limitations and critical systems.
  • Conduct vessel visits and onboard engagement programmes.
  • Review vessel technical history, recurring failures and reliability risks.
  • Assess fleet readiness and identify improvement opportunities.

 

  1. Technical Superintendent Leadership
  • Provide day-to-day functional leadership to Technical Superintendents.
  • Review priorities, workload and technical challenges.
  • Coach Technical Superintendents on troubleshooting, planning and technical governance.
  • Promote standardised technical practices across the fleet.

 

  1. Reliability Improvement
  • Review repeat failures and chronic equipment issues.
  • Support root cause investigations and corrective action plans.
  • Track reliability improvement initiatives.
  • Support implementation of downtime and failure management processes.

 

  1. Maintenance & Technical Governance
  • Review maintenance strategies and PMS effectiveness.
  • Identify gaps and improvement opportunities in maintenance execution.
  • Support TM MASTER optimisation and data quality initiatives.
  • Assist in standardisation of maintenance practices across the fleet.

 

  1. SPS & Lifecycle Event Preparation
  • Participate in planning for SPS, major maintenance campaigns and quayside projects.
  • Review scope development and technical risk assessments.
  • Support preparation of lifecycle event strategies

 

  1. Technical Support to Asset Management
  • Provide technical recommendations to Head Asset Management.
  • Support vessel readiness reviews.
  • Review technical risks associated with project opportunities.
  • Participate in technical discussions with clients, Class, OEMs and suppliers.

 

  1. Continuous Improvement
  • Support development and implementation of AMCOM procedures.
  • Promote structured engineering governance.
  • Drive standardisation and lessons learned across the fleet.
