JOB PURPOSE

The post is critical to ensure compliance with environmental requirements from clients and relevant authorities. This post holder is responsible to advise project/business line as subject matter expert on pollution prevention and relevant mitigation measures during project execution.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Ensure project environment deliverables including monthly reports are prepared and submitted as per contractual requirements;
  • Ensure environmental risk evaluation are conducted and communicated to project team and subcontractors;
  • Provide technical support on environmental mitigation and compliance as per contractual and regulatory requirements;
  • Provide technical input on bid/subcontract evaluation of environmental services and other relevant subcontract works that could pose impact to the environment;
  • Coordinate with marine mammal observer and/or other function/discipline leads on project environmental Requirements;
  • Analyse project environmental performance and report to client, PMT and Group/Business Line QHSE as required;
  • Conduct Environmental Managements System audit, evaluation of compliance and environmental inspection throughout project phase at SEB/Subcontractor sites as required by Project Quality team;
  • Participate in Lesson Learned, RCA and environmental incident investigation whenever required;
  • Maintain communication between subcontractor, PMTs and Clients throughout the operations activities on environmental related issues;
  • Conduct training on environmental risk assessment process and regulatory requirements to Project team;
  • Plan and organize project environmental awareness and relevant community/CSR program as required;
  • Ensure VTEB environmental commitment and procedures are communicated to project team.

QUALIFICATIONS / CERTIFICATIONS

  • Degree in Environment/Marine Science or Environment/Civil/Chemical Engineering
  • ISO 14001:2015 Internal Auditor certification
  • Associate member/Member of marine/engineering/environmental professional institute

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

Minimum of years (10) years working experience as an environmental specialist, in EPCIC business with global exposures.
