JOB PURPOSE
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment, including motors, generators, transformers, switchgear, and control panels.
Perform preventive maintenance inspections and tests on electrical systems to identify and address potential issues before they escalate.
Diagnose electrical problems using testing devices and techniques, such as multimeters, circuit testers, and thermal imaging cameras.
Repair or replace faulty electrical components, wiring, and connectors, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.
Interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals to understand system layouts and troubleshoot complex electrical problems.
Collaborate with other technicians and maintenance personnel to coordinate work activities and prioritize repairs based on urgency and impact on operations.
Adhere to safety procedures and protocols when working with electrical systems, including lockout/tagout procedures and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment history, and parts inventory, using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or other tracking tools.
Stay informed about developments in electrical technology, industry trends, and best practices, and recommend upgrades or improvements to enhance system reliability and efficiency.
Provide training and guidance to junior technicians and apprentices, sharing knowledge and expertise to develop their skills in electrical maintenance and repair.
QUALIFICATIONS / CERTIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent. Associate degree or vocational training in electrical technology preferred.
