JOB PURPOSE
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Project Planning and Execution:
Develop and implement construction plans, schedules, and strategies in collaboration with project stakeholders to achieve project objectives and milestones.
Define project scope, deliverables, and resource requirements, and establish clear objectives and performance metrics to guide project execution.
Oversee the procurement of materials, equipment, and services required for construction activities, ensuring timely delivery and cost control.
Construction Management:
Supervise and manage construction teams, subcontractors, and vendors, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, quality standards, and project specifications.
Conduct regular site inspections, safety audits, and quality checks to monitor progress, identify issues, and enforce compliance with regulatory requirements.
Provide technical guidance and support to construction teams, resolving technical challenges and ensuring work is executed according to engineering designs and drawings.
Resource Allocation and Management:
Manage labor, equipment, and materials resources effectively to optimize productivity, minimize downtime, and control project costs.
Coordinate with procurement and supply chain teams to procure materials, equipment, and services required for construction activities, ensuring timely delivery and cost control.
Monitor resource utilization, track project expenses, and maintain accurate records to support budget planning, forecasting, and financial reporting.
Stakeholder Communication:
Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, including clients, contractors, regulatory agencies, and internal teams.
Communicate project progress, milestones, and issues to stakeholders through regular meetings, reports, and updates.
Address stakeholder inquiries, concerns, and requests promptly, seeking resolution and maintaining positive relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
Risk Management and Problem-Solving:
Identify potential risks, hazards, and obstacles to project success, and develop mitigation strategies to minimize their impact.
Proactively address construction-related challenges, deviations, and delays, implementing corrective actions and contingency plans as needed to keep the project on track.
Collaborate with project teams to resolve technical issues, design conflicts, and change requests, ensuring timely resolution and adherence to project objectives.
Quality Assurance and Compliance:
Ensure construction activities comply with applicable codes, standards, regulations, and permit requirements, including environmental and safety regulations.
Implement quality control measures, inspections, and audits to verify compliance with design specifications, codes, and standards.
Document non-conformities, deviations, and corrective actions, and maintain accurate records for reporting and audit purposes.
QUALIFICATIONS / CERTIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; advanced degree or professional certification is advantageous.
