JOB PURPOSE
To provide comprehensive legal and governance support for VTEB’s overall corporate operations by handling day to operation matters at hand which includes legal advisory, legal research, contract drafting, negotiation, execution, and dispute resolution. The role ensures that the company’s corporate operation’s day to day interests are protected, legal risks are minimized, and compliance with governance standards and industry
Key accountabilities
- Demonstrate skill level appropriate to role in legal advisory, contract drafting, negotiation, execution and management.
- Role will require occasional hours outside of standard business hours - to join calls with overseas team members. Able to work with counterparts around the world with different time zones. Regular and, at times, unpredictable travel, including international travel, is required.
- Contractually and commercially risk adverse.
- Meet stakeholders to understand their needs and feedback related to contract requirements, processes, risks and standards.
- Advise process, governance, and compliance requirements related to corporate operations.
- Prepare, develop Standard Contract Templates and the other documents /agreements to support cost contract activities.
- Attend to, articulate, providing advice and resolution strategies, defend demands, disputes and issues to protect company’s interest. Coordinate and monitor litigations until settlement. Source, appoint and manage external counsels.
- Provision of legal opinion and conduct legal research.
- All other work as instructed by the Superior.
Qualifications / Certifications:
- Degree in Law
- Certificate of Legal Practice or equivalent (Preferable)
Relevant Experience:
- 5-8 years of experience working in legal firm or in-house legal department or combination.
- Has adequate experience working in oil & gas industry or other related industries.
- Strong legal knowledge and experience in litigation, corporate legal and commercial matters
